Chris Murphy  > Digital Retouching > Digital Retouching
What you see is not what you get...its usually much better! For example here are some before and after shots that demonstrate what is possible with a digital image. Normal processing will include minor adjustments to light, color, focus, and crop size. If you find a picture that needs some serious help...like it has a bob in it, your ribbon fell off or your horsie decided to listen into the latest grandstand gossip feel free to drop me a line and I can fix it...for free...and if you don't like the end result...no harm ~no foul..I am a nerd when it comes to Photoshop and like to do this sort of thing just to see if I can :)...

Chris Murphy > Original shot straight from the camera with 2 very clear issues. Its dark...blah and it has a big Ole Bob in it..you have to be kidding right?
Chris Murphy > Adjusted the light...but we still have a very big problem...what about Bob?
Chris Murphy > Ok problem gone. This is the type of service you can expect with my shots...and I do all this because it's fun for me. I will be honest with you not everything can be fixed and I will let you know...but you would be surprised at how much can be done.

You may ask why don't I take this shot to begin with?

The reality is there are very few perfect shots. Most require some touch up work and some require a lot and it can be time consuming to do. If you see a photo you would like but would rather see the finished product let me know and I will be happy to help.
Chris Murphy > Original shot - not to bad here but our road horse is running down hill, lost the ribbon, we have ear issues and there are some peeps in the background with no heads...lets see what we can do here.
Chris Murphy > Hmmm...this one speaks for itself...its a picture and they are worth a thousand words. Peeps are gone, ribbon is back and the ears...fixed em...almost.
Chris Murphy > Hard to believe there is actually a horsey in this one...lets see if we can turn on the lights in this place...stay tuned...or click the next shot.
Chris Murphy > Lights are good..print it
Chris Murphy > Wow sometimes I wished I had a flash...but then I realize I don't know how to use one...never fear - I have mad skills with the digital darkroom.
Chris Murphy > Mad skills work better then da flash...print it
Chris Murphy > When someone parks a car in your picture you might think...hey...that is going to be a issue. I love this shot and with the outside light and the sun that has hit this like no tomorrow...but...BIG...BUT...the 2 door spec in the back ground and lawn chairs have to get the photochop.
Chris Murphy > Now where talkin...Karen has the MJ tongue stickn out...but this shot is da bomb...and she knows it...she pwned IT!...

pwned

A corruption of the word "Owned." This originated in an online game called Warcraft, where a map designer misspelled "owned." When the computer beat a player, it was supposed to say, so-and-so "has been owned."

Instead, it said, so-and-so "has been pwned."

It basically means "to own" or to be dominated by an opponent or situation, especially by some god-like or computer-like force.
"Man, I rock at my job, but I still got a bad evaluation. I was pwned."

OR

"That team totally pwned us."
Chris Murphy > Putting a cart behind one of these bullets seems nuts to me...but to actually ride one...wow...I will stick to shooting the pitchas...go Holly!
Chris Murphy > Amazing what cropping a picture can do...simple...print it.
Chris Murphy > Cute pony...wait...that is a pony isn't it...its got attitude...lets turn the lights on so we can see MR L
Chris Murphy > Mr L...you rock...print it!
Mr L...you rock...print it!
